POLICY ON BEHAVIOUR & AGGRESSION
BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS
PLUTO'S PLACE is a premium service that primarily attracts dog owners who seek peace-of-mind while they're away from their dog. For this reason, we strive to consistently provide a safe, enriching, and peaceful small group experience for all our guest dogs.
To maintain our standard of excellence, all dogs visiting Pluto's Place must be;
TRAINING DEFICITS MUST BE ADDRESSED TO AVOID RATE INCREASE OR SUSPENSION
Dogs who are friendly and non-aggressive but who lack sufficient training and recall cannot be guaranteed a spot at Pluto’s Place and may risk having their reservation bumped or cancelled when their behaviour is expected to interfere with the needs and/or comfort level of another dog reserved during that time.
Priority is automatically given to dogs who meet our behavioural standards - who can be matched safely and comfortably with any dog in our pack.
As a small group provider, our business is negatively impacted when we must turn down clients as a result of a temperament mismatch when we have the space available. This impacts our schedule and risks inconveniencing clients whose dogs continue to meet our behaviour criteria.
For this reason, we retain the right to use our better judgement and remove the reservation status of any dog who cannot be booked with certain dogs due to their lack of self-regulation.
We expect that clients who wish to reserve our services will willingly address problematic behaviours when reported.
A dog being friendly and non-aggressive is as important to us as having the proper training in place to maintaining order and harmony.
Training deficits can augment over time and impacts the overall harmony of the group by interrupting the peaceful environment we strive to create at Pluto's Place.
Once reported to owners, training deficits must be addressed within 30 days to avoid a service rate increase, or suspension from services. Any remaining time or credit will not be refunded in the event of a suspension, as it is the owner's responsibility to address behavioural concerns promptly.
Readmission after suspension will require an assessment over three daycare visits to determine suitability for re-entry.
We will happily adopt any new commands and strategies that are effective in managing the behaviour in question, as long as they are being practiced at home (for consistency), are effective, and pain/fear free.

We run a tight ship at Pluto's Place! Maintaining a consistent schedule is very important to us, as it allows us to prioritise the needs of our pack above all!
POLICY ON SHORT NOTICE & LAST MINUTE CHANGES
At Pluto's Place, Ajax, we value and appreciate your business! We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise from time to time. Within reason, we're willing to accommodate such requests. In these cases, additional fees will only apply where it is necessary to compensate our time and any adjustments made to our regular schedule.
All additional fees and charges must be settled prior to pick-up.
1. Without prior notice, arriving more than 15 minutes outside of your scheduled arrival time, will incur a charge of $20, $30 on weekends & holidays, in addition to any additional hourly charges and fees that may apply.
2. Please give at least 2 hours notice for same-day changes to drop-off/pick-up times.
Time changes must be arranged at least two hours ahead of time and within our regularly scheduled drop-off and pick-up hours, otherwise additional charges will apply. (see Hours of Operation)
3. Requests for pick-ups/drop-offs beyond 8pm (6pm on weekends and holidays) cannot be accommodated. Owners who are unable to pick up their dog before 8pm (6pm on weekends/holidays) will be charged the overnight rate. If a pick-up cannot be arranged between 8am and 10am the following morning, a full-day of daycare will be charged.
4. Short notice requests to cancel additional hours or services booked will not be refunded (see cancellation policy). Readjustments to arrival and departure times must fall within our regular drop-off/pick up blocks to avoid any additional charges and fees.
5. All short notice and same-day fees and charges must be settled via e-transfer prior to pick-up.
6. Past due payments will be charged a 25$ late payment and new bookings will not be accepted until all fees and charges are cleared.
7. Clients who are unsure they’ll be able to keep their drop-off/pick-up times are encouraged to book an extra night or additional hours as a buffer. This is especially recommended for clients travelling out of country, or facing long weekend traffic delays.
8. Changes to drop-off times do not change the pick-up time originally scheduled. Requests can be made on the drop-off date, as long as we're able to accommodate it, and the adjusted time falls within our drop-off/pick-up blocks.
9. Short-notice and same day booking requests are welcome. If we have space available, we will do our best to accommodate.
A $20 fee will apply to last minute requests made after 7pm or to extend a service already in progress, as it may require us to readjust our schedule to accommodate the changes.
*We reserve the right to update and change our policies at any time, and will inform clients promptly of any changes.

IF NECESSARY, A $50 FEE WILL APPLY TO EACH DAY WHERE DROP OFF AND PICK UPS ARE NOT OFFERED
