Arranging a meet & greet is your first step toward complete peace of mind when arranging care for your dog.
Because of the intimate nature of our small group environment, we reserve meet & greets for those who are ready to move forward with services, have approximate dates in mind, and are committed to reserving a trial service (if required) after a successful meet.
At Pluto’s Place, we specialise in relationship-based care. Our approach is designed for those who value consistency, a higher standard of care, and intend to build an ongoing relationship with Pluto's Place, allowing their dog to feel safe, familiar, and truly at home over time.
During your visit, you’ll tour our space, learn more about our approach, and allow your dog to be thoughtfully introduced in a calm, structured way.
This ensures that each introduction remains meaningful, current, and supportive of a smooth transition into our home.
To maintain availability for prospective members, meet & greets are reserved with a $50 deposit.
This allows us to keep our schedule open for prospective members who are ready to move forward with services.
When daycare or boarding services are reserved within 14 days of your meet & greet (including future-dated bookings), your deposit may be applied towards a Pluto’s Place V.I.P Membership for access to preferred rates and perks, or credited incrementally toward future reservations.
Meet & greets are most beneficial when scheduled close to your dog’s first stay to ensure familiarity and a smooth transition.

Depending on your dog’s temperament and individual needs, a daycare or overnight trial may be recommended to support a smooth and comfortable transition into our home.
If you believe your dog is a good fit, we invite you to complete the following steps:
1. Review our acceptance criteria.
2. Fill out the new member intake form.
3. Once we have accepted your application, you may reserve your meet and greet at Pluto’s Place.

Dogs we accept at Pluto’s Place:
- Friendly with other dogs and people
- Has been previously socialised around other dogs and people
- No history of biting, guarding, aggression, or destructive behaviour (to household items)
- House trained with good recall and obedience
- Must have good leash manners to be included on walks (no strong leash pulling or aggressive reactivity)
- Low to moderate energy levels (higher energy when playing outdoors is acceptable)
- Does not suffer from moderate or severe separation anxiety
- Shy, timid, senior, and medically sensitive dogs are welcome
- Puppies are accepted on a case by case basis. Large, high energy male puppies are not compatible
- Dogs must be spayed or neutered, unless under 7 months. All male puppies must wear belly bands indoors to prevent marking. No exceptions
