*PLEASE READ CAREFULLY*


ALL DOGS MUST BE:


- friendly with all dogs and people.


- well socialised around other dogs and people.


- gentil. No history of biting, guarding, aggression, or destructive behaviour.


- calm. Moderate to severe separation anxiety is not compatible with our pack.


- house trained with good recall and obedience.


- spayed or neutered (if over 7 months of age). Male puppies and females in heat must wear belly bands and doggy shorts indoors - no exceptions.



ALL DOGS MUST HAVE:


- the ability to settle calmly indoors and at bed time.


- good leash manners to be included on walks (no strong leash pulling or aggressive reactivity).


- low to moderate energy levels. High energy dogs are not compatible with our pack.



PUPPIES & SPECIAL NEEDS:


Shy, timid, senior, and medically sensitive dogs are welcome. Premium rates may apply. 


Puppies are accepted on a case by case basis. Premium rate applies.


Large, high energy male puppies are not compatible with our pack.

Arranging a meet & greet is your first step toward complete peace of mind when arranging care for your dog.


Because of the intimate nature of our small group environment, we reserve meet & greets for those who are ready to move forward with services, have approximate dates in mind, and are committed to reserving a trial service (if required) after a successful meet.


At Pluto’s Place, we specialise in relationship-based care. Our approach is designed for those who value consistency, a higher standard of care, and intend to build an ongoing relationship with Pluto's Place, allowing their dog to feel safe, familiar, and truly at home over time.


During your visit, you’ll tour our space, learn more about our approach, and allow your dog to be thoughtfully introduced in a calm, structured way.

This ensures that each introduction remains meaningful, current, and supportive of a smooth transition into our home.

Ensuring a Successful Meet & Greet

To maintain availability for prospective members, meet & greets are reserved with a $50 deposit. 

This allows us to keep our schedule open for prospective members who are ready to move forward with services.


When daycare or boarding services are reserved within 14 days of your meet & greet (including future-dated bookings), your deposit may be applied towards a Pluto’s Place V.I.P Membership for access to preferred rates and perks, or credited incrementally toward future reservations.


Meet & greets are most beneficial when scheduled close to your dog’s first stay to ensure familiarity and a smooth transition.

Before reserving a meet & greet, we kindly ask that you review the criteria outlined on this page, which highlights the temperament and behaviour best suited to our pack.


To ensure a seamless experience, we also recommend reviewing our rates, policies, and terms in advance. For your convenience, direct links are provided at the bottom of this page.


Depending on your dog’s temperament and individual needs, a daycare or overnight trial may be recommended to support a smooth and comfortable transition into our home.


If you believe your dog is a good fit, we invite you to complete the following steps:

1. Review our acceptance criteria.
2. Fill out the new member intake form.
3. Once we have accepted your application, you may reserve your meet and greet at Pluto’s Place.

New Member Intake Form

All new members must first fill out a detailed intake form to allow us to determine suitability.

If you’ve carefully reviewed our acceptance criteria, rates, and policies, and believe your dog is a good fit for Pluto’s Place, please fill out an intake form and we will get back to you promptly!

Meet & Greet - New Member fee/deposit

C$ 50.00
Pay with PayPal or a debit/credit card

A deposit of $50 is due once a meet and greet appointment date is scheduled. Once the full deposit amount is paid via PayPal or e-transfer, the appointment date will be confirmed and reserved in our calendar


The initial deposit may be applied towards a membership with Pluto’s Place, or in $5 increments when reserving services with us.


Deposit is non-refundable - no exceptions.

Rescheduling policy: 

To avoid losing the initial deposit, we require at least 3 days notice to reschedule a meet & greet appointment without penalty.
Appointments can be rescheduled one time only and must be rescheduled on the day of cancellation for a future date not exceeding 2 weeks of the original appointment date.
